Mambo was the first new generation of CMS after phpnuke and others type have emerged. According to wiki, mambo is a free software / open source content management system (CMS) for creating and managing websites through a simple web interface. It has attracted many users due to its ease of use. Mambo also includes more advanced features such as page caching to improve performance on busy sites, advanced templating techniques, and a fairly robust API. It can also automate many tasks such as web indexing for static pages. Mambo can provide RSS feeds, printable versions of pages, news flashes, blogs, forums, polls, calendars, website searching, language internationalization, and other possibilities.
Nowadays Mambo team of developer leaded by Miro has formed a non profit foundation to protect the copyright of Mambo. Resulting of this few core members of the Mambo dev team, quit the team and form Joomla.

While many people are searching for MSAS (Mambo Stand Alone Server), many dont knows that XAMPP can also do the same thing as MSAS.
You can download XAMPP here. XAMPP is an easy to install Apache Distribution for Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, and Solaris. The package includes the Apache web server, MySQL, SQLite, PHP, and so on.
You can use XAMPP to host your CMS like Mambo,Joomla and Wordpress. Moodle also has been tested working properly with XAMPP. XAMPP is lite and easy to use. Install the script you want to use in httdocs folder and create your database as you did in the cpanel.
SO if you want to work offline using Mambo or Joomla, use XAMPP.
UPDATE
By the way I have found another link to download MSAS. Download it here
Happy working!

After 24 hours of working, now MyBiodiesel has been completely transfer to Joomla based CMS. Mambo was a history. With a vast support from the community, I think Joomla will serve the site better.
How I migrate it?
Official tutorial on how to migrate Mambo to Joomla
Official tutorial can be found here. But to no avail it drive me crazy. I dont understand the MYsql process and it keep failing.
So I did the conservative way. Easier and take me only 3 hours to complete it!
Requirement
Basic knowledge of FTP, PHPMYADMIN and cpanel
I use Filezilla as ftp manager.
First step
In your MySql Databases (cpanel) setup a new database for your Joomla. Give your database name and add user to the database.
Second step
Make new folder in the roots. You can make it via cpanel file manager or through ftp manager. Here my new folder is called Web
Third step
Copy all Joomla files to this new folder
Fourth step
Point your web browser to www.yoursite.com/joomlafoldername. Follow the installation process.
Now is the time to migrate all the content, categories, sections, users, modules, mambots from old man Mambo
I will continue the next step later….want to take my bath first

Alhamdulillah

All praise to Allah. This is my third design. If the last two design were for personal use, this time I have been asked to design a website that can give a Web 2.0 approach to a knowledge specialist company. As usual I use Joomla as the content management system. The extensions provide by Joomla were awesome which can be varied from a flash rotator to a complex community builder.

circles99 is temporary not available
through out this week i find it is hard to access circles99.com. Maybe they undergo some upgrading process or they experience the bandwidth´s shortage. What I am afraid of is, the same thing had happened before to communityzero.com. After some time, they became big and many users registered their own community. They went offline few times, just to reappear with an announcement that they will impose new rules regarding fees and charge. Yap…we need to pay some money to host our community. I hope circles99.com dont repeat the same thing. They can generate income by placing ads and referral links on each groups. It will be suficient enaough, if every day people click on the ads. I am sure there are thousand or millions of hits circles99.com receive everyday.
So what next guys..do you still want to stay and using the circles99.com??
