When I was in Germany, I prefer not to bring a lot of money for shopping. Or sometimes I never bring any cent and just bring my EC Karte.I feel so relax and secure not to bring a lot of cash in my wallet. Eventhough the criminal in Germany is not like in our country, but still it is comfortable to shopping without worrying of carrying a lot of cash.

What is an EC Karte?

Ec Karte (electronic cash card) is a debit card. In Germany almost all supermarkets use the EC Karte system with a motto Bargeldlos Bezahlung. (Bayaran tanpa guna duit). So I have been so familiar not to bring a lot of schein geld in my wallet. And for the whole 5 years during my stay in Germany, the system at any supermarket,shop, restaurant and petrol kiosk was never down. Believe me!

That was 3 years back…. (I graduated in 2006)

Back in Malaysia the debit card system is not widely implemented. But lately I see some banks such as MAybank and CIMB have started their own debit card. I changed my old Maybankcard to the new one. The new one has the debit card in it.  I have tried it at TESCO Ampang and Selayang. Gott sei dank the system works. But it was only for the first and second time.

Last month I went to Tesco selayang and unfortunately the debit card system was down. Maybe it has some technical problems. But GSD, I have enough cash in my pocket.

But today, for the second time, the system is not working. It was so embarassing because I have not enough cash in my wallet. I ask the cashier to try it again, but to no avail. At last I need to run to the ATM machine and get some money.

Hey what happen? If you want to implement it, then make it work. Do the routine maintenence and check. haiyaaa…..first class facilities third class maintenence and service

Ermm…what an unpleasant morning……

Wenn man im Malaysia am Einkaufen denkt, denkt man bestimmt an riesengroßen Supermarkt wie Giant, Carefour oder Tesco. Aber in Deutschland gibt es ganz wenig solche Supermarkte. Hier findet man nur klein Einkaufsmarkt, aber ist ganz bequem und einfach in jeder Wohnort zu erreichbar. Die Konzept hier in Deutschland ist ein Einkaufmarkt, der alle Alltagbedurfnisse erfüllen zu können. Die Waren bestehen aus Lebensmittel, Waschmittel, Gefrierkostwaren und verschiedenen Feinkostwaren.

Der Einkaufsmarkt varieert sich von verschiedenen Anbieter. Die größen Markennamen sind zB Aldi,Lidl,Plus,Norma,Netto,Pennymarkt usw.
