Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art — and share your creations on the web.
Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century learning skills. As they create Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the process of design: Taken from SCRATCH WEBSITE
I am very sure many parents have started to teach and expose their kids to the computer. But many of them ask me how to utilize the computer and internet for their children. There are a lot of software and programs out there specially created for children. But how many of us can really afford them?
The KL book fair is currently on going. I survey few booth that promote learning materials using software and savvy, and I am not surprise to see the price tag. EXPENSIVE! Why spend more money while you can always use open source to teach your children and kids for absolutely no charge at all.
For more example join us at Classroom 2.0. There we (am I starting to address myself as teacher?) discuss about new technology and approach for teaching and learning in this new digital era…..Just click on the RED BADGE on the far right of this website and you will be instructed on how to register an account….FOR FREE!
