I dont know how far have we reached in implementing IT in our Malaysian Education System.? As far as I observe from my interaction during IT courses that I organised in schools, our Malaysian teacher especially those from 35-50 years old group have not used the IT in the classes as much as the ministry urge them to do.
I dont know how many of the teachers out there had ever visited this website namely Classroom 2.0 to find resources, knowledge and informations regarding state-of-the-art teaching enhancement tools and tips. There educators from all over the world discuss and share their teaching experience in implementing information technology in their classes.
I sort the members area into country. I key in MALAYSIA and KUALA LUMPUR and found that only 15 members from Malaysia! And some of them are foreign teacher who teach at the international school in Malaysia.
While the Ministry is trying so hard to encourage the schools and teachers to be IT savvy by giving them a lof of things, I dont think things have changed much. And dont be surprise that many of our teachers even dont know how to create an email account or use the search engine.
To be fair I surf few portal and website especially those created by Malaysian teachers such as Cikgu.net, sembangcikgu.com and etc, I found that not much has been discussed about implementing IT in education.I revisit some of the blogs that I listed few months ago here, just to find out that nothing much has changed. Some of them never try to optimize the power of their blog to include something benefit for their fellow students such as notes, tips, learning materials and so on.
Enough said….happy bless ramadhan…and eid mubarak……………………….peace………………..
