This is part 2 of 2 : Hardware for Interactive Learning
Projector

A classroom projector makes more educational information available to students. It changes conventional habits and rituals in the classroom. It turns a boring gloomy learning process to an enjoyable yet informative session.
How to select a good projector for your classroom?
- Bigger audience need more Lumen. Brighter is better ? go for at least 2,000 lumens.
- Make sure the device work for S video in-out, sound in-out. It will be useful when u need to plug in a video player such as DVD player, camcorder etc. Although many projectors have a built in speaker, but you might need a better sound system to accommodate your audience. An audio output connectors is essential so that you can set up your own sound system for maximum audio quality.
- Bigger projector weigh more than small projector. Plan the usage of the projector. If it is going to be used in a large lecture hall, better buy together a cart to carry it, in case of any defect or service required. Otherwise small projector can suffice a small audience and is portable too.
- Make sure the bulb or lamp is can stand a long hours of lectures. Normal lamp can last up to 3000 hours depending on how you use it. Compare the price of the bulbs replacement between potential projectors.
- Last but not least, compare the price of available projectors in the market. You dont want to end up with something that will changing the bulb/lamp and sending it again and again to service center. It is important to buy from an experienced dealer who knows the history of the manufacturing and model for service issues and lamp history.
